About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
In this role, you will lead the definition and development of the spacecraft electrical architecture, with a strong focus on power generation, conditioning, storage, and distribution systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and robustness of our satellite platforms across all mission phases.
Job Description
- Define and maintain the overall electrical architecture of satellite platforms and subsystems.
- Lead the design and integration of spacecraft power electronics, including:
- Power conditioning and distribution units (PCDU)
- Battery management systems
- Solar arrays
- Solar Array Drive mechanisms (SADM)
- Drive technical trade-offs between performance, mass, reliability, thermal constraints, and manufacturability.
- Support system-level analyses including power budgets, fault tolerance, EMC/EMI compatibility, and redundancy strategies.
- Collaborate closely with systems, avionics, propulsion, software, AIT, and mission operations teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
- Define electrical interfaces and ensure subsystem compatibility and integration readiness.
- Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR, QR, AR) and technical decision-making.
- Support supplier selection, technical follow-up, and equipment qualification activities.
- Participate in anomaly investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, standards, and design practices.
